2006 Results

Triple T 4/27/2006 - Rod Roof and Mark Baize team up in Triple T torture fest

Ohio Valley Racing 4/28/2006 - Spring Series Racing is over - Our own Roger Spiegel won the Cat 5 GC points!

Godzulla 6/4/2006 - The turn out for Godzulla was a bit light but what a great day. Mary D came in second with an amazing sprint to the finish...you are awesome
girl. 7hrs and some odd minutes, 10K of climbing, sweet. Fraser set a blistering pace and was holding a solid third for two laps (each lap was 43 miles) but like many of us (albeit we much slower) decided to forgo lap 3. JoAnne did a modified lap (me too ... we both got lost on the same gravel road) and put in an awesome performance. I made two laps, just in time to see Mary come home on lap 3! ...gb

Maumee Triathlon 6/22/2006 - Here are the results from the HFP Tri at Maumee Bay last Sunday:
Kathy Cunningham (HFP announced!) won her age group in the Sprint event
Beth Korhonen was placed 6th in her age group in the Sprint event
Gary Widdig (the better half??) got second in his age group in the International Du
Monica Widdig got second in her age group in the International Tri
Matt Perkins won his age group, AND got second overall!! in the International Tri
Steph Perkins got third in her age group in the International Tri
Yours Truly (slacker..) got eight in the old geezer div. of the International Tri
(and Matt, you DID kick my arse on the bike split - I even screwed up the math on that one!)
We all had an awesome time spending the weekend up there - recommended to all as a nice Tri getaway weekend! Special thanks to Monica for much of the organizing and coordination!! Cheers, Mr. 'Now Officially a Roadie' C.

Lake Placid Iron Man 7/24/2006 From the Lake Placid IM web site Rod Roof finished in 10:47, 196th out of 2,159 competitors!

National Road Race Championships 7/28/2006 - Our very own Mary Downing-Miller crushed at the Nationals in Pennsylvania. She scored a Top 10 with the women's elite racers in the country. She's had a phenomenal year, winning Gold at the OH State Road Race, and now proving she is one of the best in America in women's bike racing. We all should give her a nice round of applause - we are very proud of her. During the race, Mary told me she hit 55 on a wet, slippery descent. I guess trying to stay with Jay on tricky descents has paid off for Mary. Scribe Dale

HPF Series Championship 9/20/2006 - Steph Perkins wins Age group tri series championship ... wohoo

Deer Creek Team Trialthlon 9/24/2006 - Here is a picture of Team BAM from the Deer Creek Triathlon this past weekend. The team consisted of Betse (from HFP racing), Angelia, and Mary O. We finished first for the Half Ironman Team event :)   --- Click image for full res

Columbus Marathon 10/14/2006 - To our G4B'ers Leanne Jepson, Rod Roof, Shawna Rookwood and JoAnne Gerwe for finishing the Columbus Marathon! Additional congrats go to Rod Roof and Leanne Jepson - who both qualified for Boston Marathon 2007!!

Florida Iron Man 11/6/2006 - Well done, Mark Baize and Matt Perkins for finishing the IM!! Matt was the first Ohioan to cross the line,  however he was a bit unlucky, the age-group was stacked, of the 16 guys that beat him only 4 were Americans but then again, he's an AUSSIE, so don't feel bad for him. For you gearheads, that's 7:36 per mile pace for a marathon after 112 miles of cycling, very impressive.

Overall Place 93 - Total Time 09:55:08 - Age-Group M40-44 - Age-Group Place 17/347
Swim 1:09:07 - T1 6:12 - Bike Time 5:17:08 - T2 3:52 - Run Time 3:18:50
